the drawing shed
TriO - three related, versatile and fully accessible structures that will sit within The Sunken Garden Community Orchard site on Attlee Terrace housing estate in Walthamstow E17: Garden Shed - an all season community and cultural space, Garden Pavilion - an adaptable open structure for community celebrations and arts workshops and Garden Bed - a mobile platform for performance, rest and play that adds to the drawing shed’s series of signature mobile structures.
Using honest construction and sustainable prefabricated elements, community consultation and participation are central to the project ethos. This extends the drawing shed’s approach in developing The Sunken Garden with residents from the local community in 2017.
Community Event - Saturday 21st April
11am - 3pm in the Sunken Garden, Prospect Hill, E17
Residents from Attlee Terrace are invited to join the drawing shed to find out more about TriO. Come down and share your ideas of what could happen in these new spaces.
Free homemade soup, bread and tea and cake will be served. All welcome.
TriO will be delivered by the drawing shed, with Alex Spicer and Sahra Hersi, underpinned by the expertise of an established East London architectural practice, Matthew Lloyd Architects. The generosity of spirit, breadth of knowledge and depth of experience in co-producing buildings and places within which communities can come together and thrive is what this partnership is all about.
